Script Control - Auto Starting Cues
Ever miss that cool countdown because you forgot to click the fire button in time for it to run all the way through before you HAVE to start your program? What about the volunteers who just forgot to start the announcements before your service? MediaShout has a solution for making sure your media program starts at the exact time you want it to every week. Script Control Cues can be used to auto start your program at specific times, based on your computer's clock.
Insert a Script Control Cue from the bottom tool bar in MediaShout by dragging the Script Control Icon onto the Cue location just above the Cue you want to designate for a specific start time. (You can drop the Script Control anywhere on the script to start any Cue, but it's less confusing to have it at the Cue you want to start with the Script Control Cue.)
In Script Control Cue Properties 'Action' dialogue, check the button beside 'Fire This Cue.' Then select the Cue you want to auto start in the drop-down window. Next, in the 'Start Action At' dialogue, set the exact time you want that Cue to begin. You can type in a specific name for this Cue in the Control tab. You might want to name it "Auto Starting Countdown." When you complete these settings, click 'Apply' and 'OK'.
Make sure your computer's clock is set to the correct time as the Script Control Cue 'Auto Start' function looks to your computer clock for the time to execute the designated Cue. If it isn't, you can correct the time setting in the Windows Control Panel 'Date and Time' menu.
Script Control Cues can also be used to set looping Cue sequences. A series of Cues can be set to repeat indefinitely or to play through a specific number of times then move to the next Cue or another Cue you designate. For this functionality and more information search the 'Help' File for 'Script Control Cues'.
