The Settings
dialog box (choose Tools > Settings) offers
lots of ways to customize and fine-tune
v3. While most of the Settings controls
and options are documented in the Help
feature, a few have been added since v3’s
initial release, and don’t appear in the
documentation:
Open
cues into cue properties box before inserting:
When checked, this option on the Control
tab causes the program to open a new cue
into the cue properties box so you can
adjust its properties before inserting
it. In other words, it behaves like v2.
When this option is unchecked (the default
setting), a cue gets inserted immediately.
(Exceptions: Text and Script Control cues
always open into the cue properties box
when they’re inserted, regardless of this
setting.)
Show
content tooltips in the Pages listboxes:
Another option on the Control tab. When
checked, placing the mouse pointer over
a page name in Lyra’s, Bob’s or Ted’s
Pages listbox brings up a tooltip showing
you the words contained on that page.
This is especially handy when the font
size and background in Lyra’s or Bob’s
preview box make it hard to read the text
there.
ShoutMonitor
Click-to-fire feature: Yet another
option on the Control tab. By default,
if you click the thumbnail of a cue depicted
in a ShoutMonitor, the program fires that
cue to the audience. For example, if you
have a ShoutMoniitor set to Next, clicking
its image will fire the next Script cue.
On the Control tab, this Click-to-fire
setting is called Single click.
If you change it to Double click,
only a double-click will fire a cue in
a ShoutMonitor. And if the whole idea
of firing cues from ShoutMonitors frightens
you, choose Disable.
