I have MediaShout 5. Should I get MediaShout 6? | MediaShout Church Presentation Software & Media
Cart

So you have MediaShout 5.

It’s a perky program. You’re using it to create terrific presentations at church. You’re probably enjoying popular features like our baked-in Bibles, 7-day support, Dropbox syncing, and more.

Then MediaShout 6 came out, and you’ve been hearing all about how great version 6 is.

Now, if you’re anything like me, you’re asking yourself, “I like MediaShout 5. Why should I pay more for MediaShout 6?”

That’s a smart question to ask! Let’s take a quick tour of the advantages you’d get by upgrading to MediaShout 6. By the time you’ve made it through this list, you’ll know:

  1. Exactly what new features you’re missing out on right now
  2. Whether or not it’s time to upgrade

Sound good? Sweet. Let’s look at the top reasons people upgrade to MediaShout 6!

1. You can edit your presentation directly from Preview

You’re running a last-minute preview of your presentation and—whoops!—there’s a typo in that sermon note. If you’re using anything except MediaShout 6, you’re going to have to exit the preview and edit that text in another panel.

But with MediaShout 6, you can edit your presentation directly from preview. It’s a colossal time-saver.

And this goes for more than just text edits. You can fix or change any cues and slide content from preview.

This is the A-number-one feature of MediaShout 6. No other church presentation software has this capability. Not MediaShout 5, not ProPresenter, not EasyWorship—you can only get it by upgrading.

2. You can automatically generate your CCLI song reports

You want to do the right thing and report your song usage. But that gets SUPER tedious, right?

Well, not with MediaShout 6. The latest version lets you easily generate and export the report documents you need. You just plug in the date range, and MediaShout generates a CSV file. You can use this to properly report your usage to CCLI (or another reporting service).

3. The interface got a huge upgrade

We rebuilt the layout of MediaShout 6. Now all of your presentation work is in one place, and it’s a lot easier to find your way around.

Now, to be fair, that means that if you’re used to MediaShout 5’s layout, there’s some un-learning to do. But we’ve designed the new layout to be much, much quicker to use once you’ve found your way around. That means you get a clean, simple experience when you’re using MediaShout 6.

This is a huge win for your future team members. The new interface of MediaShout looks a LOT more like the presentation software programs they’re used to using on the job (think PowerPoint or Keynote or Google Slides). When you put a new recruit behind the controls, it’s much, much, easier for them to learn their way around.

4. You get two new Bibles

MediaShout 6 has 67 Bibles included, whereas with MediaShout 5, you’re working with 65.

OK, that’s not a huge leap. But every little bit counts, right? 😉

5. You can show two Bibles side-by-side

The MediaShout Dual Bible feature lets you choose the Bible reference you want to display, then select a second version that will automatically be shown side-by-side.

That’s really powerful, especially if you want to:

  • Show how different translations approach difficult passages
  • Contrast word-for-word translations with thought-for-thought translations
  • Show Scripture in two different languages simultaneously

It’s a pretty cool tool that can draw more attention to Scripture during a sermon. (Your pastor will thank you!)

6. MediaShout 6 en Español & Français (with more on the way!)

The whole software experience is available in Spanish, too! So if you’re hosting a Spanish service, you can toggle the presentation software back and forth.

Seriously, if yours is a bilingual church, you need to consider MediaShout 6.

7. Object-level controls just got a lot stronger

You already have some control over individual object transitions and animations in MediaShout 5. But version 6 gives you a great deal more control here.

Much like Powerpoint, you can control each object on a page and animate its entrance or exit by simply pressing the space bar. It’s a big step forward from MediaShout 5.

8. You get more printing options than ever before

You now have control over printing from MediaShout 6. You can change the size and number of columns per page, how many lines of notes to include, or whether to include thumbnails. Plus an option to leave room to write handwritten notes.

9. You can switch between dark and light MediaShout interfaces

Does your presentation tech team work in a bright space? A dark-colored interface can be hard to see sometimes.  The same holds true for people working in dark areas with a bright-colored interface.

Retaining volunteers is important. And it’s easier to retain volunteers if they don’t get headaches! So we’ve now added the ability to select between the dark (think V5) or light (think V4) theme option to MediaShout 6. Now, it doesn’t matter if your team is working in a dark environment or a bright environment, they can work with a presentation software that’s easier to look at for long periods of time.

10. Liturgies are just as easy to manage as lyrics

Do you and your congregation do a lot of responsive readings?

The Liturgy Manager in MediaShout 6 lets you manage liturgy content just as easily as you can song lyrics. That means your call-and-response texts just got a lot simpler to present, and it’s super easy to re-use them.

If you’re part of a liturgical church, your mind is already spinning with possibilities. But even if you’re not, this is a really useful tool for presenting and re-using:

  • Church covenant readings during your new members services
  • Your church statement of faith
  • Calls to prayer, repentance, and faithfulness

11. You can mask elements of your display

Our new display masking tool lets you hide or show only certain parts of your display. (This really comes in handy if you’re doing environmental projections.)

And finally: you get a discount for upgrading

If a new church were to get all these features, they would need to pay $399.

But if you’re using MediaShout 5, you don’t need to pay the full price. You only pay $199—about half.

You’ve looked at the benefits of upgrading. This is what you get when you move from MediaShout 5 to MediaShout 6. Now the question is: Are you ready to take the leap?
